Communication with our admin team is a little slower on Saturdays and Sundays. But don't worry, once you are matched with your Maven, communication with your Pet Care Provider is quick and easy!

Why You Should Become A Mutt Maven

Things You Should Know First
- There are NO guaranteed hours, and your schedule will change from week to week, sometimes with little notice from clients.
- While weather can be wishy washy in New Mexico, we still strive to work outdoors across all seasons as safety allows.
- We go to the client's homes, so you will be expected to drive your own vehicle to each pet sit or dog walk.
Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years old and be able to pass a federal background check. But don't worry any/all processing fees are covered by The Mutt Mavens.
- You need a driver's license and your own reliable transportation.
- You need to have a smartphone and be able to use apps and communicate via text.
- You understand AND accept this job does not guarantee any hours and is intended to be a supplemental income opportunity.
FAQ
How far in advance should I schedule?
We suggest submitting requests for overnight pet sitting around a month ahead, and requests for dog walks a week ahead. We always encourage planning as far in advance as possible as our schedules do fill up each day. But if we can fill last minute requests, we sure will!
What if my regular walker/sitter isn't available?
At The Mutt Mavens, we work as a team to ensure your pup always gets the care they deserve! If your regular Maven is unavailable due to illness or an emergency, another trained and trusted Maven will step in to provide the same high-quality, personalized service—so your furry friend never misses a beat.
What is your payment and cancelation policy?
Payment is due on or before the first day of your reservation. We request at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations before the first scheduled service day. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will result in a 50% cancellation fee of the total booking amount.
Are times guaranteed?
We operate on a two hour window to account for traffic, weather, last minute requests, and other things that come up throughout our day. This means that if your visit is scheduled at noon, we will arrive sometime between 11am and 1pm.

About Us
THE MUTT MAVENS was sparked by two of Santa Fe's finest locals, best buds, and IRL next door neighbors -- Amber & Autumn. We've been independent pet sitters, dog owners, and devoted animal lovers for decades with a lifelong love and shared passion for pet sitting, pup play, and craft canine cuisine.
We've always deeply felt that our pets aren't just anyone -- they're family, which is why we wanted to create a service for our community that feels less like a business and more like a trusted resource for our clients and an extension of their pet's posse.
And while it started with just the two of us, our pack has grown! We now have a network of handpicked Mavens — dedicated sitters and walkers who bring the same love, safety, and sparkle to every pet they meet.
So whether it's dog sitting, daily walks, pack playdates, or overnight stays, we make sure your furry friend gets the engagement, love, and attention they crave and deserve.
